Recovery from the disruptive impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been visibly in progress at Zurich Airport as well as its subsidiary airports run through Zurich Airport International AG.
Zurich Airport had reported that the travel restrictions in place as a result of the pandemic were largely lifted in the first half of 2022 and buoyant travel led to the continuing recovery being slightly stronger than expected.
In the first half of 2022, 9.1 million passengers passed through Zurich Kloten Airport. This was a significant 333.1% increase compared to the same period in 2021.
At Zurich Airport International’s airports in Latin America, passenger traffic for H1 2022 also saw tremendous increases from the same period in 2022. Passenger traffic at the airports of Florianópolis, Vitória, Macaé, Antofagasta as well as Iquique for H1 2022 had increased by more than 50% compared to the same period in 2021
The continued recovery in passenger traffic was reflected in the Zurich Airport Group’s financial results for H1 2022.
