With the lifting of COVID-19 travel restrictions in the Netherlands, the total number of passengers at Royal Schiphol Group airports in the Netherlands increased by 359% to 27.3 million. This was 29.5% lower than that in H1 2019, indicating that Royal Schiphol Group airports were on track to recovery.
In particular, passenger traffic at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in H1 2022 grew by 325% year-on-year to reach 23.8 million. This was 31.0% lower than that for the same period in H1 2019.
The recovery in terms of passenger traffic in H1 2022 also translated into an improvement in Royal Schiphol Group’s financials.
For H1 2022, Royal Schiphol Group’s turnover was EUR665.3mn, which was a year-on-year increase of 158.9%.
The Alliances & Participations segment, which is responsible for Royal Schiphol Group’s operations in the regional airports and development of international activities, saw its revenue improve by 197.1% from EUR24.3mn in H1 2021 to EUR71.8mn in H1 2022.
