For the first half of 2022, Corporación América Airports saw a visible recovery in passenger traffic, with passenger throughput across all of its airports increasing by 138.4% to reach 28.6 million.
In the second quarter of 2022, Corporación América Airports handled a passenger throughput of 15.1 million, which was about 52.8% that of the passenger throughput for the first half of 2022. Compared to the second quarter of 2022, this was 177.0% higher than that in the second quarter of 2021, indicating that the recovery in the second quarter of 2022 was much faster than recovery in the second quarter of 2021.
While passenger throughput in the second quarter of 2022 was still 24.5% lower than that in the second quarter of 2019, it should be reasonable to expect a faster recovery for Corporación América Airports in the third quarter of 2022, given that most of the Corporación América Airports business is in the fast-recovering Latin American region.
