daa Group, the parent company of daa International, had a turnover of EUR295.6mn in the first half of 2022, an increase of 283% compared to the same period in 2021. The company also saw a EUR140mn turnaround in profitability, with EUR23.6mn in group profit from a loss of EUR116.1mn in the first half of 2021.
daa Group also reported that overall international turnover from its international locations in the first half of 2022 increased by 155% to EUR81.4mn from EUR31.9mn in the same period in 2021.
In the first half of 2022, passenger traffic at Dublin and Cork airports, which contributed to most of the turnover of daa Group, increased to 13 million in 2021, from a low of 1.1 million in the same period of 2021.
daa Group also reported that passenger numbers for Dublin and Cork airports in the second quarter of the year (April to June 2022) were 13% lower than the same period in 2019. In the first quarter of the year (January to March 2022), passenger numbers were 36% compared with 2019.
daa Group has attributed the strong recovery at Dublin and Cork airports to a significant pent-up demand for travel following the easing of global COVID-19 restrictions.
