For the year 2021, passenger traffic at almost all the airports in the Egis portfolio saw a significant double-digit increase from the previous year, which was an indication of a strong recovery from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic where air transportation had been severely disrupted.
Excluding the Egis-operated airports in the Republic of Congo under AERCO, passenger traffic at Egis-operated airports in 2021 increased from 11.08 million passengers in 2020 to 19.30 million passengers in 2021, which was a year-on-year increase by 63.5%.
The strong recovery of passenger traffic across the Egis-operated airports were also followed by improvements in the financial performance of Egis Airport Operations.
