Bouygues Bâtiment International is the subsidiary of Bouygues Construction that has been specialising in complex construction projects around the world for more than 40 years.
The company is also a developer, operator and investor of airports in different countries around the world such as Canada, Croatia, Cyprus and Madagascar through the following subsidiaries:
Hermes Airports Limited
Bouygues Bâtiment International holds the largest share (22%) of Hermes Airports Limited (a consortium of nine shareholders including Egis Investment Partners, Vantage Airport Group and Aer Rianta International), which took over the operation and management of Larnaca and Paphos International Airports in Cyprus in 2006.
Hermes Airport is Bouygues Bâtiment International’s first airport ppp project. It has a 25-year BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) concession agreement with the Republic of Cyprus.
According to statistics available on the Hermes Airport website, the two airports handled 11.3 million passengers in 2019 but passenger traffic fell to 79.6% to 2.3 million in 2020 due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, passenger traffic at the two airports recovered to 5.1 million, which was a 121% improvement from that in 2020, but still 45.1% lower than that in 2019.
