Concession Rules for Cape Verde’s Cluster of Airports Revealed

By Kevin Rozario (London, United Kingdom)

The concession process for the privatization of up to seven airports in the Cape Verde (Cabo Verde) islands off the west coast of Africa has moved to the next stage when Cape Verde’s Council of Ministers signed a decree establishing concession rules for the deal in the third quarter of 2019.

The rules are aligned to a law passed on August 12, 2019 that established the legal framework for a Public Airport and Civil Aviation Support Concession.

Deloitte Portugal was selected to handle the process and provide the technical support to successfully complete the transaction, which followed the release by the Finance Ministry of a Request for Expressions of Interest for an advisor to assist with development of airport management concession process.
